Energy Generation

Oshawa PUC Energy Services Inc. develops, constructs and operates energy generation projects in Ontario. OPUCES owns and operates a 2.4 megawatt natural gas fired co-generation plant which provides electricity and thermal energy to Durham College and the University Of Ontario Institute Of Technology (“UOIT”). OPUCES also manages and operates Regent Park Energy Inc. which provides heating and cooling to 18 buildings in Canada’s largest social housing project.

Distributed Energy Resources

We are working diligently to provide clean, sustainable energy through efficient utilisation of natural resources. We are actively exploring innovative ideas and strategic partnerships that will help contribute to a prosperous future for generations to come.

Through Oshawa PUC Energy Services Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Oshawa Power and Utilities Corporation, we are planning to expand into distributed generation utilizing renewable resources—such as wind, solar, and biogas—to pursue the expansion of our “clean and green” distributed generation assets. Oshawa PUC Energy Services owns and operates a 2.4 MW natural gas fueled combined heat and power (CHP) plant at the site of Durham College and the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, in Oshawa. Our CHP plant generates both electricity and thermal energy to power and heat the various campus buildings and displaces the equivalent load of approximately 600 homes from the electricity grid in Ontario.

OPUCES is now offering Combined Heat and Power energy services! Click here for more information.
